That may be a bit of an exaggeration but sometimes it does seem like I have at least 40 “Works in Progress.” As I mentioned earlier I intend to finish one quilt a month for the entire year of 2013. One of my favorite parts of finishing a quilt is coming up with a name then embroider a fun label. This year I would like to include the month that each quilt represents in the title but I realized that, in itself, presents a challenge because I need to be in “the mood,” to work on any given quilt. The February quilt, above right, is a case in point. That was the quilt top that I felt like working on though it looks more like summer heat than February cold. So I simply imagined sun radiated through the cold and titled the quilt, “Seek Warm in the February Sunshine.” The flannel quilt on the left is simply titled, “January.” They are both 52” x 72”, a bit larger than I usually make. Happy they are now done. Back to work for me.
