Just a quick post as I prepare to head off to a CPR class this morning. It has been a long time since I had one and it seemed like a good idea to sign up. Tomorrow I will head down to the Peninsula to celebrate Mother’s Day with one of my sons and his wife’s family. Of course this means I get to see sweet little Lucy too. I started celebrating Mother’s Day early when the beautiful Calla Lilies, pictured above, arrived from my Seattle son and his wife. Wish I could be with everyone at once.
Mother’s Day of course makes me think of my own sweet mom and how I was so very fortunate to have her in my life for so long. Truly a day doesn’t go by when I don’t think of her and wish I could talk to her.
I think too of an especially wonderful Mother’s Day I celebrated in Rome with Tom. At first we did not realize that it was also Mother’s Day in Italy. The streets were especially crowded as everyone seemed to be out for a stroll. When we arrived at the Spanish Steps, they were covered with flowers. It was a spectacular sight. When one sees photos of the Spanish Steps there usually are flowers, but really they are not there every day so we felt very fortunate to be there and enjoy the incredible landmark in all its splendor.
Happy Mother’s Day.
