The Mixed Media with Paper and Fabric class that I am currently enrolled in is truly bringing the arts that I love together. Using my original sketches on tissue paper, then using a gel medium to apply the tissue to fabric, I can then paint the image so it appears that I have painted on the fabric. For the two above I have used Neocolor II water soluble crayons. I am only learning to use them but I finally understand why people love them so. I did have to laugh at myself when I was digging through old art supplies and found a set of Neocolor II from my college days with the original price of $7.95 marked on the box. I checked out that same box on Amazon and found them for $19.95 - we are talking 45 years later ! Anyway, I am really enjoying getting back to my sewing machine, playing with paint and stencils, carving rubber stamps and just allowing myself to play. Tom says it is like having a little girl in the house. How fun is that.
